From 12 to 16 September 2026, Sakura Finetek joined the pathology community in Stockholm for the 38th European Congress of Pathology (ECP) at Stand 331.
  
We showcased how our innovations support every step of the pathology workflow, delivering reliable, standardised IHC staining and consistent, high-quality diagnostic results, while helping laboratories build confidence from tissue sample to scan.

A clear concept

At this year’s congress, our message was simple: confidence from tissue sample to scan.

It reflects our commitment to consistency throughout the workflow. From tissue processing and sectioning to IHC staining and digital pathology, Sakura supports laboratories with end-to-end solutions that combine standardisation, automation and reliability, helping to deliver reproducible results and greater confidence in every diagnosis.

From booth to experience

We go beyond a traditional product showcase. Our process theatre allowed visitors experience the full workflow, from sample to digital scan, demonstrating how reducing variability leads to clearer, more reproducible results.

Experienced pathology differently

Beyond technology, we aimed to create an engaging and practical experience for visitors:

  • Visitors discovered the Tissue-Tek Genie® advanced staining system, which enables reliable, standardised IHC staining with optimal-only performance. Supporting the discussion on reliable IHC workflows, the poster "AI Based HER2 Scoring Requires IHC Assay Specific Training" demonstrated why AI-assisted HER2 scoring requires assay-specific training.   • Visitors experienced pathology differently through our immersive VR tour, explored Sakura's end-to-end workflow solutions and took part in an interactive CUP challenge designed to demonstrate the impact of variability and standardisation on diagnostic confidence.
  • During ECP 2026, Sakura Finetek and Hamamatsu Photonics formally celebrated their alliance, bringing together advanced staining and digital pathology solutions to support consistency in every slide, clarity in every image and confidence in every decision. The first phase will launch in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany.
  • We also launched the Sakura Pathology Network (SPN), connecting early-career pathologists across Europe to exchange ideas, share perspectives and help shape the future of pathology while providing valuable insights into the evolving needs of pathology laboratories.
